There are many ways to make your wedding green and still have your dream wedding. Here are a few ideas to get you started...
Rent:
Rental companies have a wide selection of event items that can be mixed and matched to create your look while saving you the time and money of searching and buying all the items on your own. Renting is a greener option because the items are getting a lot more use instead of being used one or two times and then being packed away.
Borrow:
Reuse items that a friend or family member used in their wedding. For example don't buy 100 candle holders when your friend who got married last year has them left over from her wedding. Borrowing will save you a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere or saved.
Reduce:
Reduce your spending by opting out of some traditional wedding day items. Don't feel that it is absolutely necessary to have favors. Favors can be avoided in many creative ways. Perhaps have a candy bar that will serve as an appetizer and a favor. Set out cute small bags for your guests to fill. Other ideas would be to donate what you would spend on favors to your favorite charity and then leave a nice note for the guests explaining your unique decision.
