Wedding Flowers

Your floral decisions can also be environmentally friendly. This doesn't mean you automatically have to use less flowers or local in season flowers (although those are great eco-friendly and cost effective ideas). Choosing a florist that run their business using environmentally friendly materials and practicee, florists who use recycled and enviornmentally friendly marketing materials, office supplies, and other non-floral related items are also a way to have a green wedding and not sacrifice your floral dreams.

Other ways to Go Green with your wedding flowers:
  • hire a florist who is located near your wedding location to reduce travel distance.
  • hire a florist that purchases flowers from local growers
  • Hire a florist who's growers use eco-friendly fertilizers.
  • choose flowers that are in season durring your wedding
  • reduce the amount of flowers you use
  • reuse the flowers after your big day (my mother in law created and grew potted flowers for our ceremony, we planted them around our house after the wedding)
  • allow the florist to take the flower arrangements and reuse them for another order.
  • reuse ceremony arrangements in the reception.
